Forty-five percent of health care professionals at medical groups without an electronic health record system said they would be very likely to participate in a pay-for-purchase EHR proposal being considered in the economic stimulus bill, according to a survey by Allscripts.
Twenty-four percent of respondents without an EHR system said they would be somewhat likely to participate. Two percent of respondents without an EHR system said they would not participate.
Eighty-two percent of health care professionals surveyed strongly agreed that the government should provide funding for EHRs in the health IT portion of the economic stimulus package.
Results are based on a January online survey of 1,888 health care professionals who use an Allscripts product.
