When testing various EHR systems, they found most systems only allowed them to pick one chief complaint, which did not accommodate their average patient having 3 complaints. “Aprima allows us to document more than one chief complaint,” says Kristin Jefferies Smith, MS, FNP, BC. In their old system, Smith would have to create 3 different notes, one for each complaint; with Aprima, they can all be documented in the same note.

In 2011 after researching several EHR vendors, Dr. Mole made the decision to purchase Aprima from DAS. A key factor for him was “the in town training and support. They are physically here,” says Dr. Mole. From talking to friends he learned with other providers “everything had to be through the phone or internet. You don’t have physical contact. You’d get a short training and you don’t see them anymore. These guys are here. They come to the office when I need them.

No tienes contacto físico.

There is a revenue side, allowing you to capture charges more accurately, code correctly and reduce payor rejections. There also exist many expense savings, including reduced paper supplies, transcription costs, space savings, and staff efficiency.

If you look at the ROI only as a physician, you may miss the ROI available to you as a business owner… remember, in many cases you are BOTH.
